Voting in The Roaries, Austin’s OTHER Music Awards, has been extended until 11:59pm Tuesday night. We have received almost 1000 ballots so far and more are coming in every day. Make sure you get your votes in today or tomorrow; the top three nominees in most categories are within 1-2% of each other. We would hate for a nominee to lose by one vote, so we decided to keep the voting going for a couple days more.
The nominations have been collected and announced, and now it’s time to open up the voting for The Roaries. For those of you not aware of The Roaries, here’s a quick overview: Austin without music would be like peanut butter without jelly, beans without rice, or Willie without the braids. But we have to support the scene to keep it alive. To showcase some of the best musicians in the city that may not be getting recognition, Republic of Austin decided to create the Roaries, a new kind of award celebrating the Austin musicians that YOU like. TwoGroove is happy to co-sponsor The Roaries with Republic of Austin, but would be even happier if you’d take a minute to cast your ballot.
