So here I am on vacation, looking for the results from the vote on the creation of Austin music department, a city office that would support the local music scene, and not finding much. Then I see a Statesman blurb about votes from the August 6 meeting, with no elaboration: Withdrew an item related to the creation of a city music department. I’m not totally sure what “withdrawn” means and whether or not this is a permanent blow to the recommendations of the Live Music Task Force.

If anyone has any more information about the City Council meeting on Aug 6, please post it in the comment. I’ll be searching around for more info as well.
