Past, Present, Future: Super Tuesday

Saturday, July 11th, 2009

So check this out. Some 16 year olds from Cincinnati can totally sing and play instruments better than you. How does that make you feel? I know it makes me feel good to know there are young musicians taking cues from the likes of James Gang instead of Joe Jonas…not that I have a negative view of the youth of America or anything…

Super Tuesday’s current offerings feel like only the beginning. The right spark and this group can easily bust out of Cincinnati and start entertaining audiences all over Ohio…the world!

Super Tuesday

Members/Instruments:
Phillip Johnson: Vox, Guitar
Andrew Rogers: Bass
Rob Bingham: Kit

Year Formed: 2007

1.Past: What is your musical background? What has led you to this point?
Each of us was inspired early on by our fathers to pursue music, choosing the same instruments that they did. I (P. Johnson) have been playing for 7 years, and Andrew and Rob have been playing for 3 or 4. We began to play together about 2 years ago, in my basement, and have been writing music ever since.

Super Tuesday2.Present: Where are you at now in your career? What are you currently working on?
Right now we’re all only 16 years old, and taking every opportunity we can possibly get. We’re currently working on songs for our 3rd EP, which might be called the Elephant in the Room EP. Our newest songs seem a lot more mature than our older material, and the sounds we’ve been making are really astounding. In fact I’m almost as excited for this EP as you should be.

3.Future: What’s coming up for you? Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

What’s coming up for us? Shows, writing, more shows, and more writing. That’s pretty much all we do. In 5 years I would say our goal is to be signed by an indie label somewhere, hopefully somewhere close to Cincinnati.

4.Where can people find more of your music?

5. Anything you’d like to plug?
Be sure to look for our next EP, due in February of 2010!
