Here’s a sneak peek from the new EP, Grassrock.
More info about HMS Foolhardy below.
HMS Foolhardy began in Berlin, Germany in 2003 simply as Foolhardy. The debut album was recorded in Berlin and featured players on loan from Whitest Boy Alive, Maximilian Hecker, and Nena (yes, that Nena). After relocating to Austin in 2005 (rechristened “HMS Foolhardy”) and drafting bassist phenom Carissa, a follow-up album was recorded with Nada Surf producer Louie Lino. The album featured “Taken Alive” which was selected as a KUT Song of the Day last summer.
The latest recordings are produced by Grammy-nominated performer Guy Gershoni (Thievery Corporation, Mark Farina). The sound is rougher and more stripped down – felt right for the times.
HMS Foolhardy is a co-ed grassrock trio with big beats and tasty melodies. Plentiful hooks and harmonies are punctuated by satisfying rock-n-roll moments. The music appeals to a wide variety of listeners, including fans of Death Cab, The Shins, The Stone Roses, and The Smiths.
